Timea is an Urban Forester with the City of Guelph where she is responsible for the coordination and implementation of the City’s Urban Forest Management Plan. This includes urban forest initiatives such as policy, tree bylaws, inventory, asset management, forest health, protection, renewal and maintenance of the urban forest, monitoring the state and sustainability of the urban forest, and community awareness and engagement.
She holds an Honours Bachelor of Science in Forestry from Lakehead University and is a registered Professional Forester with the Ontario Professional Foresters Association (OPFA). She is currently Co-Chair of the Regional Public Works Commissioners of Ontario Urban Forestry Sub-Committee and was also a member of the Urban Forest Working Group of the Ontario Professional Foresters Association from 2018-2021.
While Timea has held her current position in Parks for the last 10 years, she’s been with the City since 2004 with previous experience at the City in Engineering Design and Construction and Development Engineering. A diversty of experience in forest management from both Ontario and British Columbia provides Timea with a unique combination of skills that allows for a holistic, collaborative and comprehensive approach to Urban Forestry practices and governence in a municipal setting.
